CIT Program Highlights

New for Summer 2024!
  • Buddy Program where first year CIT’s are paired with a returning CIT and returning CIT’s are paired with a staff member, who was once a CIT, for added mentorship
  • Twice over the summer, CIT’s from all Apachi locations will meet as a group for a full day of fun-filled activities, community service projects and additional training.
  • CIT’s will have set aside time in their schedule to enjoy all the activities they loved as campers.
  • Hands on experience working with children, young adults and other professionals
  • Specialized training with completion certificates (possible trainings may include CPR, First-Aid and Babysitting)
  • Development of important skills for success at camp, school and beyond
    • Leadership and Decision-Making, Time Management, Goal Setting, Organization, Understanding Expectations
    • Conflict Resolution, Communication
    • Program Planning and Execution, Creative Thinking, Collaboration
    • And more
  • (Available at specific Apachi Day Camp Sites) Placement area chosen based off interest in following areas: camp group, office, marketing, programming, sports or select specialties.
  • Dedicated CIT Unit Head or Coordinator to support each CIT’s growth throughout the program
  • Community service hours
  • Exciting field trips that take the Apachi fun outside of camp

CIT Program Expectations

  • Actively participates when working with campers and staff
  • Participates in both indoor and outdoor programming
  • Works collaboratively every day in a team environment
  • Resolves conflicts in a productive way by seeking help from Unit Head and counselors
  • Adapts a “what’s next mentality” and seeks opportunities to be helpful within the camp community
  • Acts as a positive role model and stays present daily
  • Accepts feedback from the CIT Unit Head, Directors and other staff members and uses it to reflect on and improve performance
  • Performance evaluation given by Unit Head at the end of the summer session
  • Phones and headphones out of sight and not used except for scheduled breaks and emergencies
  • HAVE FUN

Next Steps

After registering for the CIT program, each CIT is required to download and complete the Get to Know Me form and submit a Letter of Recommendation  to your Apachi Day Camp Director prior to the start of camp.
