JCC Chicago Initial Reopen Dates
June 9, 2020
Dear Friends,
JCC Chicago is thrilled to share that we will begin to restore essential programming in June, following all recommendations from Illinois Department of Public Health, CDC, DCFS, America Camp Association and JCC Association. Beginning June 29, JCC Chicago’s full-day early childhood programs at Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook and Florence G. Heller JCC in Lakeview will reopen to our students. Jacob Duman Early Childhood Center in Lake Zurich will follow on on August 31. All Apachi Day Camps will open on Monday, July 6 for a single 5-week session; Apachi Hyde Park will open to campers on Monday, July 13.
Our reopening plans have been meticulously created by our Early Childhood and Apachi Directors and in deep partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and our JCC Chicago Board of Directors. The reopen dates of these programs will be staggered to ensure a smooth transition and to best support a successful start for each program.
We are so proud of the careful and creative thinking that has gone into every detail as we prepare to reopen. Together, we are navigating new territory. With the passion, focus and strategic thinking of our team, every student, camper and family will be welcomed back to the programs they depend on with endless love and support from the J.
JCC Chicago buildings will continue to remain closed to all other programs, participants and staff, aside from Early Childhood and Apachi, during the initial reopen period.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support,
